Grade 1: new in package

Grade 2: Normal surplus. No obvious damage. Minor cosmetic flaws such as mild to moderate soiling, writing, or other signs of use. May be Foliage or Green. 

The purpose of these pads are to provide soldiers with a light weight, comfortable sleeping mat while providing them with additional insulation to stretch the capabilities of their sleep system. Most of the heat lost in a sleeping system is from points where the insulation is compressed against the ground, creating cold spots.
