Condition: Grade 1 Validation Trial

USMC Snow MARPAT Field Pack Cover – 2007 Validation Trial A rare piece of USMC camouflage development history. These are authentic USMC Snow MARPAT field pack covers produced for the Marine Corps' 2007 validation testing program. Unlike standard-production surplus, the sewn-in labels specifically identify these as “USMC VALIDATION TEST 2007”, making them genuine trial/test pieces.

Designed to camouflage a full-size field pack in snow-covered and alpine environments, the cover stretches over the exterior of the rucksack and uses an integrated elastic/bungee edge to hold it securely in place. The lightweight material packs down small when not in use.

Authentic Trial/Validation Item

The original military label reads:

COVER, FIELD PACK, SNOW MARPAT

USMC VALIDATION TEST 2007

ONE SIZE

Contract No. W911QY-06-D-0010

Standard Mfg. Co.

CAGE: 0FSP5

These markings are particularly noteworthy for collectors because the covers are identified by the USMC validation test program rather than a conventional production NSN.

Condition Grades

Grade 1 – Good to Very Good: Fully usable and in particularly nice condition considering their age and trial-use origins. May show mild staining, discoloration or other minor signs of previous use.

Grade 2 – Serviceable: Fully usable but may have moderate staining/soiling and/or small holes. Small holes can generally be repaired easily by applying an adhesive fabric repair patch to the inside of the cover.

Grade 3 – Repairable: May have larger holes or a damaged/broken perimeter bungee cord. The bungee can be replaced with a little patience, making these an inexpensive option for someone willing to perform a simple repair. We have priced these accordingly rather than adding the labor cost of repairing them ourselves. May or May not be validation trial pieces. Leave us an order note if it matters to you and we will do our best to accommodate.

NOTE #1: These are genuine military trial/test items approximately two decades old. Variations in wear, staining and appearance are expected and are part of the nature of authentic fielded experimental equipment.

Note #2: "Standard production" variants are current issue and do not bear the trial tag and instead have a normal NSN tag but are otherwise the same.
