The USGI Intermediate Sleeping Bag, part of the MSS Sleep System is the perfect sleeping bag for scouting, camping, or just being prepared. This heavyweight, durable, mummy style sleeping bag is ideal for cold to freezing weather. The Intermediate Sleeping Bag is designed to fit inside of the Bivy Cover, with the Patrol fitting inside of the Intermediate (other parts sold separately). The bags snap together making a system that will keep you warm when the temperature drops below -10°F. The Intermediate Bag alone is heavy weight bag and excellent for use during cold weather.

The durable rip-stop nylon shell and continuous filament polyester insulation is constructed to withstand the rigors of combat. The mummy design helps keep you warm and the generous “boot box” at the bottom is designed to allow the user to keep his or her boots on, either for added warmth or in case a quick exit is needed. Durable YKK zippers are used on either end of the bag allowing wearers to customize the amount of ventilation. Zippers are dual sided and can be easily accessed from the inside.

This is as good as my Marmot and Mountain Hardwear bags, both of which cost 300 plus. Get em while they got em.

Usgi sleeping bag (intermediate) grade 2

If this a grade 2 I wonder what the grade 1 looks like. The bag looks great I see no faults. Now I can't tell you how warm it is cause it's July and 88 degrees right now in Wisconsin. But looks like it will help keep me warm. I also got the m81 sleep system carrier. It too looks great. It will help keep my sleep system clean and dry .

OT is helping me save a bundle piecing together a complete MSS. I'm in the DC region now, but when we return to God's Own Country (Minnesota) we'll be doing some winter camping and I wanted something that I new could withstand the cold and not break the bank. Shipping was lickety-split. The condition was as described; only light soiling that was resolved with a wash and dry, and only a few small grease-looking stains that didn't come out. Tag with washing instructions was still intact and legible. For $45, I'm more than happy with it.
