Bladder style hydration carriers offer much convenience but that comes with some irrefutable downsides as well. Bladders are harder to keep clean, they are far more fragile, and they are not as easy to fill/refill or collect water from natural sources.
This kit contains everything you need to use a USGI 2-quart canteen as a hydration carrier.

Note: a 100 Round M60 or 200 round SAW pouch fits a 2qt canteen perfectly as does the Dutch Small Woodland General Purpose Pouch. This kit will also work with a 1qt canteen with the replacement cap included with the kit.

The gas mask kit does the job when you want to train using gas masks on hiking trails or practice for senarios. Just be aware that the kit is for training purposes and not for actual situations. That being said the hose is of high quality as well as the connectors. If you need a real world situation canteen connector to gas mask you are limited to a usgi nbc cap on a 1 or 2 qt canteen. I ordered 2 kits with one being a backup and the other for regular use. Was easy to install and easy to route the hose using grimlok d rings which I highly recommend for anyone using these kits. I made this purchase to be able to carry and drink water better than using a bladder during a Norwegian Foot March Event. The 2-Quart Canteen Hydration Kit was easy to set up. I wish I had gone this route when I did the event earlier this year. Great Product.
The hydration kit comes as described. Could easily modify a Nalgene cap, or any cap for that matter to turn any already owned bottle into a hydration pack
